MediaKitty [1]: Camping out around the West this Fall [2]Publicat de : MediaKitty la 01 Sep 2010 - 04:15Turism&Travel [3]
The changing of the seasons brings crisp autumn air, colorful flowers and leaves, and fewer crowds at campsites.
This fall grab a tent and sleeping bag and head outside, there are great escapes all over the west. In Northern Arizona, Mormon Lake Lodge has campgrounds and RV hookups just outside the Coconino National Forest. If cooking out over a campfire seems like too much work, head over to the Mormon Lake Steakhouse and Saloon for casual Western atmosphere and tender cuts of prime beef. Don't worry about hurting the environment by eating out, these eateries are green restaurant certified. IIn the high desert country of Sweetwater County, campers can find true peace and solitude. Wyoming is known for its wide open spaces and public lands. Spend the days hiking, mountain biking, fishing, or taking in the wild life- this area is home to desert elk, wild horses, large birds of prey, and small land mammals - in the over 10,500 square miles of public lands. After a day of exploration and contemplation find some dried juniper leaves to start a crackling fire and fall asleep beneath the stars to the sounds of the high desert. Southwest Idaho is a camper's paradise. Whether looking for a place to pitch a tent near great fly-fishing, relaxing hot springs, or North America's largest sand dunes, you'll find the perfect campsite here. At Ponderosa State Park, campers can fall asleep on the shores of Payette Lake and lay-back with a pair of binoculars for birding during the day. Keep an out for local moose, beaver, deer, and maybe even a bear. Media Contact: Nancy Harrison, 970-568-7423, Nancy@adventuremedianews.com Photos available. |
