Program Will Span Entire Marketing Platform
MedjetAssist, the premier medical
evacuation and repatriation membership program in the United States for savvy
travelers and corporations, announced today that 16-time PGA Tour champion Jim
Furyk will be the company's national spokesperson for the next two years.
If a
Medjet member becomes hospitalized while traveling more than 150 miles from
home, the company will arrange medical transfer to the hospital of their
choice. Medjet boasts more than 50 worldwide affiliates, allowing members
to travel with the peace of mind knowing that, should they need emergency
medical care, help is only a phone call away.
Known for his consistent top-level play, Furyk won the 2003 U.S.
Open, the 2010 FedEx Cup and was named 2010 PGA Tour Player of the Year.
As a well-traveled statesman, he has been a seven-time member of the Ryder Cup
team as well as a seven-time member of the Presidents Cup team, the latter of
which he helped clinch an American victory in November 2011.
âBecoming a member of MedjetAssist was a natural
for me,â said Jim Furyk. âAs much time as I spend away from home, both on
the Tour and with personal commitments, my Medjet membership takes away
any worry about what would happen if I get sick or injured. Rest assured
I always pack my Medjet card.â
"Jim Furyk is the consummate professional
both on and off the golf course," said Roy Berger, president of
MedjetAssist. "He is well respected in the golf world and represents
the values of Medjet and our brand image. We are honored to have Jim as
part of our team."
Under the endorsement partnership arrangement, Furyk's name and
likeness will be used across MedjetAssist's entire marketing platform
beginning first quarter 2012. Print, radio, TV, internet, website,
and collateral will feature the pro golfer and in some areas will also include
his wife Tabitha.
In
August 2011, the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) named MedjetAssist
the âOfficial Medical Evacuation Program of the LPGA.â As part of that
agreement, MedjetAssist protects LPGA Tour players and staff.
MedjetAssist
is the premier medical evacuation membership service in the country. If a
member is hospitalized more than 150 miles from home and requires continued
hospitalization - MedjetAssist will arrange medical transfer to the member's hospital
of choice. MedjetAssist has its corporate headquarters in Birmingham, AL, and
is the recognized provider of medical evacuation and repatriation services for
AARP. For more information, visit www.medjetassist.com.
